Gilas Pilipinas had a great start at the 27th FIBA Asia Championship (2013) when they defeated Saudi Arabia's national basketball team last night. Final Scores: 66-78.
As one of the opening games of FIBA Asia 2013, the game between Saudi Arabia and Gilas Pilipinas was aired over TV5.
I watched the whole and I must say, that Gilas didn't give their best. Hope they can show more the next time.
Breaking down Philippines' final score of 78 points, 12 points of which were scored by LA Tenorio and Larry Fonacio, 10 points for Marcus Douthit. Ranidel De Ocampo contributed 9 points, while Marc Pingris, who was the Best Player of the game, had 8 points. Pingris also recorded 9 rebounds and 1 block.
Saudi Arabia on one hand had the top scorer of the game. Aymam Almuwallad recorded a total of 18 points. Even Mohammed Almarwani also performed great, with 12 points and 12 rebounds, while Mustafa Alhwsawi scored 11 points and 6 rebounds.

Gilas Pilipinas is hoping to win for the Philippines the coveted championship for the 6th time (and for the first time in 28 years). During the last FIBA Asia Championship held in 2011, Smart Gilas Pilipinas finished 4th.
