As reported in both 'Saksi' and 'Bandila' last night, Maiko Bartolome and 6 other students from Bulacan State University met their tragic fate when they got drowned while crossing Madlum River in San Miguel, Bulacan as part of their field trip.

The other students who died have been identified as Mikhail Alcantara, Phil Rodney Alejo, Helena Marcelo, Michelle Ann Rose Bonzo, Madel Navarro and Jenette Rivera.

They're all BS Tourism 1st year students, mostly aged 16 to 17. Maiko was already 26 years old.

SAKSI reported that Maiko was a former member of EB Babes, a female dance group regularly seen on 'Eat Bulaga!'

Based on my own research, her full name is Maiko Eleva Ison Bartolome. Using the screen name Maiko Ison, she was also one of the original 'Wowowee' girls (aka ASF Girls) on ABS-CBN before she moved to the rival show on GMA 7. In fact, she was also a dancer of 'MTB: Ang Saya Saya', the noontime show which was replaced by Wowowee.

After EB Babes stint, she became part of a new dance group, the GnG Gaga Girls, this time for another noontime show, 'Game 'N Go', on TV5.

Most recently, she's a talent for TV5&'Wow Mali Pa Rin' and 'Pinoy Samurai'.

The Andi Eigenmann lookalike was already married with one child. It's only this year that she resumed her studies, hoping to finisher her BS Tourism course by 2017. - Mykiru.ph
