27th Awit Awards 2014 winners have been awarded. Who walked away from the awarding ceremony as the biggest winner? See list below.
Six (6) months after they released the list of nominees, the Philippine Association of Recording Industry (PARI) finally announced earlier at the Resorts World Manila the winners for the 27th Awit Awards.
Just like last year, biggest winner once again was rapper Gloc-9 with his album 'Liham at Lihim' winning Album of the Year and his song 'Magda', which also featured Rico Blanco, winning Song of the Year, Best Collaboration and Best Rap Recording. 'Papel', the song he and Joey Ayala recorded for Philpop 2013 where it was one of the Top 5 finalists, won as Best Novelty Recording.
Counting all his Awit Awards wins from the past 'til present, Gloc-9 whose real name is Aristotle Pollisco now has a total of 18.
Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez on one hand won Best Inspirational Recording for her song 'Nathaniel' and Best Christmas Recording for 'Hele ni Inay', which also won Best Musical Arrangement (for arranger Homer Flores). She now has a total of 20 Awit awards.
X Factor Philippines winner KZ Tandingan also took home 2 awards (Best Jazz Recording, Best Ballad Recording), as well as 'The Voice Philippines' Season 1 finalist Paolo Onesa (Best Performance by a Male Recording Artist, Best Performance by a New Male Recording Artist) and Zia Quizon, who won Best Performance by a Female Recording Artist for 'Pasakalye' and Best Song written for a Movie/TV/Play, 'Bakit Di Ka Crush ng Crush Mo', the theme song from the 1st Kim Chiu-Xian Lim movie of the same title.
10 years after Sarah Geronimo was honored with the Awit award Best Performance by a Female Recording Artist ('Forever's Not Enough'), here she is winning Best RnB Recording for 'Ikot-Ikot', her 7th already from the Awit Awards.
Other winners include Daniel Padilla (who for the 2nd straight year nabbed the Best Selling Album of the Year award), Sam Concepcion (Best Dance Recording), Abra (Best Music Video), Marion Aunor (Best Performance by a New Female Recording Artist) and more.
