The Voice Philippines Season 2 Top 12 artists have been narrowed down to 8, who will then compete on next weekends' semi-finals, February 21 and 22. The grand finals of The Voice Philippines is already slated on March 1.

We have just seen the 12 remaining artists fighting their way into the semifinals.

Last night, Alisah Bonaobra and Daryl Ong from Team Apl, and Rence Rapanot and Rita Martinez from Kamp Kawayan already took their semifinal slots. And after tonight's results, 4 more are joining them: they are Team Sarah's Jason Dy and Monique, and Team Lea's Timmy Pavino and Leah Patricio.

Here's tonight's results...

TEAM SARAH:
Kokoi Baldo performed 'Message in a Bottle', and was eliminated.
Monique Lualhati performed 'Butterfly', and was saved by Coach Sarah.
Jason Dy performed 'Kahit Kailan', and was saved by public votes, with 44%.

TEAM LEA:
Leah Patricio performed 'Because You Loved Me', and was saved by Coach Lea.
Nino Alejandro performed 'I Wanna Know What Love is', and was eliminated.
Timmy Pavino performed 'Story of my Life', and was saved by public votes, with 50%.

Yeah, no more Kokoi, the early favorite 4-chair turner reggae singer who has topped the voting the past 3 live shows. He however did not land on top of the voting tonight and was eliminated after Coach Sarah Geronimo picked Monique over him.

Sarah took so long to reveal her choice, and was crying as she made her decision that even Coach Lea had to rush to her side and comfort her.

It was really hard, very heartbreaking, but she made the right choice actually. "Ang pipiliin ko ay kung sino 'yung gusto pang magpagtuloy sa competition - Monique," she said as she saved Monique, and Kokoi gracefully made his exit.

What Kokoi said previously that he didn't join to compete, but only to share his music probably helped Sarah in making that really tough decision.

Kokoi is unique, but as the competition goin' near the end, it has become obvious that he can no longer show off "competition level" performances. But I'm sure he already has a place in the OPM industry. He's already popular, and certainly will be given his own album soon.

Aside from Kokoi, two other 4-chair turners have been eliminated in this week's live show - Tanya Diaz from Kamp Kawayan and Nino Alejandro from Team Lea, leaving Rence Rapanot as the only 4-chair turner in the Top 8.

Next live show, the final Top 4 grand finalists will be revealed. The competition has become really tougher. - Mykiru.ph
