Noven Belleza is Tawag ng Tanghalan grand winner, Sam Mangubat second

Tawag ng Tanghalan grand finals on It's Showtime came down to just 6 finalists, then later trimmed down to just 3, who competed for the grand prize of P2-million, a house & lot, a recording contract from Star Music, a 'negosyo' package, a family vacation package and a musical instruments package worth P100,000.
The farmer from Negros Occidental, Noven Belleza, emerged as the grand winner, after his performance of Air Supply hits earned a near-perfect final average score of 99.60% (100 from text votes, 99.92 from the judges).
Our poll winner Sam Mangubat from Batangas was declared 2nd Placer winning half a million cash (but this could count as an additional prize - judge Yeng Constantino also promised to write a song for him), while the bet from Bato, Camarines Sur, Froilan Canlas, placed 3rd taking home P250,000.
It just made me curious how the hell Sam and Froilan got only a final average score of over 50% lower than that of Noven.
Perhaps it would be better if they showed the breakdown of text votes and the judges' score.
With that kind of scores, I would assume Sam and Froilan got only 20% from text votes, the judges perhaps gave them a score of below 70. Just do the Math there. Or maybe, 40% from text, then just below 50 from the judges?
I think they made sure Noven would win by giving the other 2 finalists a very low score, just in case Sam or Froilan would top the votes.
As it turned out, Noven actually won both in text votes and judges' scores.
Still, congratulations Noven and to the other winners.
Pauline Agupitan, Carlmalone Montecido and Marielle Montellano meanwhile already stopped in the Top 6, each winning a P100,000.
I'm now excited for Tawag ng Tanghalan Kids which will already start this Monday. - Mykiru.ph
