The Philippines and Romania had their very first nominations in the 2007 International Emmy Awards by The International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.ABS-CBN's news program Bandila introduced the Philippines to the International Emmys with a nomination in the News category. Philippines is the only Asian nominee in the said category, pitied against other entries from Europe and South America. Same goes for Romania who also had its first nomination for its news program Pro TV News.
The winners for the 2007 International Emmy News and Current Affairs categories have just been handed out today at an Awarding Ceremony at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers in New York City. Did the first time nominees win?
Unfortunately, the Philippines and Romania lost to UK's BBC, who both snatched the awards for News and Current Affairs. However, it is still a great rare achivement for both countries to be represented in the International Emmy Awards.

I have read on one forum that the Philippines' TV series Sa Piling Mo (In Your Arms) and Super Inggo are semi-finalists in Drama Series and Children and Young People categories respectively. The final nominees are yet to be known on October 08.
TV Patrol World and Bandila, were both shortlisted in the News award, but only Bandila was able to make it in the final nominees.
