Jason Castro (right) from Rockwall, Texas is one of the official Top 24 contestants of American Idol Season 7.
And the list was right...
The list of American Idol Season 7 Top 24 semi-finalists that was available middle of January is 100% correct when the official announcement was held February 13, 2008.
Three guys named David have made it officially, including Star Search winner David Archuleta.
Ramiele Malubay, the shortest contestant, becomes the 8th contestant of Filipino descent to make it to the semis, after Brad Tigno Estrin in the 1st Season, Jordan Segundo during the 2nd season, Jasmine Trias and Camille Velasco in Season 3, Melinda Lira in Season 4, Jose 'Sway' Penala in Season 5 and AJ Tabaldo last season. That's year after year, huh.
Danny Noriega, who is I think of Mexican descent, is also one of the Top 24. Some are suspecting him as gay and predicting him to be the next Sanjaya Malakar.
The youngest contestants in the Top 24 are 16 years young Alexandrea 'Alex' Lushington from Philadelphia and Alaina Whitaker from Georgia while 29 years old Luke Menard from Indiana and Michael Lee Johns of California are the oldest.
The biggest upset during the announcement was the non-inclusion of heavy favorite Josiah Leming. His departure was very emotional that you can't help but cry with this adorable boy.
And the Simon Cowell masks are gone!
