Due to the compulsary requirements for males in Korea to undergo a 2-year military service, Gong Yoo, star of Coffee Prince, could not escape from complying to it.

The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince, which was aired in Korea back in July, 2007 and currently being shown in the Philippines, has made Gong Yoo one of the hottest leading men in Korea.

Thanks to his character Choi Han Kyul or Arthur Choi, but the sad news is, he has to temporarily bid goodbye from his blossoming career for his commitment in the military.

Aside from Gong Yoo, other male stars are also expected to do military service this year like Kim Rae-Won (Love Story in Harvard, Which Star Are You From), Shinhwa's Eric Mun and Kim Dong Wan.
