Bb. Joyce Bernal, a Kapamilya turned Kapuso director, admitted to Philippine Star that she watched the pilot episode of ABS-CBN's Lobo, starring Piolo Pascual and Angel Locsin, last January 28, 2008.
According to the news report, Bb. Joyce, who is a dear friend of Piolo, watched Lobo's premiere out of her curiosity and she welcomes it as a start of a healthy competition between Piolo's show and her series Marimar.
The lady director said it inspires her to make Marimar more exciting until it ends first week of March.
“This new development serves as a reality check. It only makes me work harder to make Marimar even better,” she said.
I certainly agree with what Bb. Joyce has said.
For me, I think, it's also very important for both ABS-CBN and GMA to work harder in making more quality programs rather than just fighting in the ratings game. If you can notice, Filipino programs, in general, tend to sacrifice the quality of their shows just for the sake of gaining higher ratings.
I won't name shows, but there are TV shows in the Philippines that are intended for dumb people, prohibiting them to think and learn.
An "entertaining and intelligent" show is what all we need.
P.S.
After Marimar, Director Joyce is also set to direct the TV remake of Mars Ravelo's Dyesebel, taping of which starts this summer 2008.
Tapped to play the title role is still unsure for now, but there is a strong possibility that it's going to be Marimar herself Marian Rivera while Dennis Trillo will play as Fredo, her leading man.

i just wish they stay true to the ORIGINAL story of Marimar.. none of that cheap local subplots aplenty in the local version... so poor and lacks research...
