John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo, stars of the 2008 Box Office hit A Very Special Love, have been officially named Box Office King and Queen for 2008 by Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation (GMMSF) in its 40th Annual Box Office Entertainment Awards.

This is by far John Lloyd's second consecutive Box Office King title (after One More Chance) while it's a first for Sarah Geronimo.

The two are also the stars of You Changed My Life, which is currently being shown in theaters today. The movie, a sequel of A Very Special Love, has already grossed almost 200 million pesos after three weekends, which could give another box-office king and queen titles to John Lloyd and Sarah next year.

Other than the Box Office Queen title, Sarah has also been honored as Female Concert Performer and Female Recording Artist of the Year.

It's already Sarah's 4th consecutive Female Recording Artist of the Year Award from GMMSF.

Ai-Ai Delas Alas, who earlier was unhappy with how the Box Office Queen is being determined, has been given a special award, as the year's Comedy Box Office Queen.

Other big winners are KC Concepcion (Princess of RP Movies, Most Promising Female Star, New Female Recording Artist) and Richard Gutierrez (Prince of RP Movies, Valentine Box Office King).

It's the third consecutive win for EB Babes as Most Popular Dance Group and for Kimerals as Most Popular Loveteam of Movies and TV.

Star Cinema, on one hand, is a consistent recipient of the Most Popular Film Producer award.
