Tonight is the night for one of the biggest boxing events of the year: Mayweather vs Marquez: Number 1 vs Numero Uno.USA's undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. (39 wins, 0 losses) vs Mexico's Juan Manuel Marquez (50 wins, 4 losses) will face each other inside the boxing ring on Saturday night, July 18, 2009 (Sunday morning - Philippine time) at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.
The two just had their weigh-ins on Friday and Mayweather was reportedly asked to pay penalties because he weighed 146 lbs, 2 lbs above the required limit of 144 lbs.
Marquez, on one hand, weighed 142 lbs.
The said fight called "Number One vs Numero Uno" can be watched via live stream on HBO PPV (pay-per-view).
In the Philippines, it will be shown on ABS-CBN Channel 2 for free (but with commercial interruptions) and on Sky Cable Pay-Per-View (with no interruptions).
British boxer Ricky Hatton, who lost to Filipino Manny Pacuiao last May, said in an interview that Mayweather will win the fight because of the massive weight difference in favor of the American boxer.
Manny Pacquiao is also rooting for Mayweather because he's faster than Marquez.
