This September, NBA Superstar Michael Jordan will be having his induction to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

That means, Michael Jordan has been an exceptional basketball player, which he truly is.

In fact, he is being regarded as NBA's greatest basketball player of all time.

He now becomes the 140th NBA player to be inducted in the Hall of Fame.

On September 7, 2009, Michael Jordan has announced that he will be having former NBA player David Thompson as his host to the induction ceremony.

David Thompson played for the NBA's Denver Nuggets during the 70's and Michael Jordan has regarded Thompson as his basketball idol, the one he looked up to ever since.

Both Thompson and Jordan are from the North Carolina.

Jordan's selection of Thompson is a surprise to many, most especially to his fans. No one actually expected it because a lot of people were expecting Jordan to pick either Phil Jackson, a former player and current coach of the LA Lakers, or Dean Smith, a former coach from the men's college basketball.

Aside from Michael Jordan, two other NBA players will be inducted to the Basketball Hall of Fame this month: David Robinson and John Stockton.
