Hollywood actor Patrick Swayze died in LA, California on Monday, September 14, 2009, after almost two years of battle with pancreatic cancer.
His publicist Annet Wolf announced it via a statement released following his death.
"Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months."
He just turned 57 last August 18th.

Swayze's most memorable films were the movies "Dirty Dancing" and "Ghost".
In "Dirty Dancing", Swayze was paired with Jennifer Grey and earned him his first Golden Globe nomination.
While Demi Moore teamed up with him in the film "Ghost" which incidentally is the very first Hollywood movie I've seen and a movie that I would always want to watch all over again.
Yeah, even if I was still a kiddie then and the movie was not meant for the kids, I really loved it. It was a heartbreaking love story.
***
Patrick Swayze was married to Lisa Niemi and the couple had no children.
