Evelyne Almasi from Tanzania won as Best in National Costume during the Miss Earth 2009 National Costume Competition held Wednesday, November 04, 2009, at the Amazing Philippines Theater in Pasig City.
The event happened after the candidates were presented to the press in the morning, making it as the 2nd major activity of the pageant.
Aside from the Best National Costume award, two awards were also handed out to two stunning beauties.
Miss Puerto Rico Dignelis Jimenez was Miss Psamlstre New Placenta while Miss Guam Maria Luisa Santos received the Pasigandahan Award.
Today, November 5, the candidates divided into three groups will tour different provinces before they strut their stuff in the runway for their first fashion show tomorrow at Robinsons Place in Dasmariñas, Cavite.

Some of the confirmed delegates have not arrived yet, so unfortunately they weren't able to participate during yesterday's events.
They were Misses Bolivia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Costa Rica, Croatia, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Kazakhstan, Malawi, Romania and Russia.
