I now have the Day 1 opening boxoffice sales of the 7 entries in the ongoing Metro Manila Film Festival 2009.
They all opened in theaters yesterday, December 25, and leading the
1st day box office was the Bong Revilla starrer 'Ang Panday' with 16.9
million pesos.
But in close 2nd and 3rd were 'Ang Darling Kong Aswang' and 'Shake,
Rattle & Roll 11' with both also having more than 16 million peso gross
receipts.
Here's the 1st day Boxoffice Rankings for the 2009 MMFF:
1. Ang Panday P16.9 million
2. Ang Darling Kong Aswang P16.7 million
3. Shake, Rattle & Roll XI P16.2 million
4. I Love You, Goodbye P11.7 million
5. Nobody, Nobody But Juan P8.0 million
6. Mano Po 6 P6.9 million
7. Wapakman P0.75 million
Day 1 TOTAL= P77.15 MILLION
***
Even though the Top 2 last year opened stronger than the Top 2 this
year, there's still a remarkable 12.6% increase in the opening total
this 2009 when compared to last year's opening of 68 million pesos.
