"Rekrut" is one of the 10 official entries in the Full Length Feature Film category of the 6th Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival happening on July 9 to 18, 2010.
It stars Joem Bascon, Alwyn Uytingco, Dominic Roco, Alchris Galura, Manuel Chua, JM De Guzman, CJ Ramos, Rob Sy, Day Dyangco and Emilio Garcia.
As seen in the pictures, Joem and others play as soldiers/military recruits for Mindanao during the Marcos Regime in the 60's. In other words, it's an action-packed war film with tons of 'barako' all throughout. The only female star that I've known so far in the film is Starstruck 4 1st Princess and Binibining Pilipinas '09 1st Runner Up Rich Asuncion.
'Rekruts' marks the film directorial debut of Danny Añonuevo, who's an award-winning film editor. He was the editor of films like 'Baler', 'Ded Na Si Lolo', 'Crying Ladies', 'La Visa Loca', 'Banal' and 'Ploning'.
