The 68th Golden Globe Awards or the Golden Globes 2011 is happening on January 16, 2011 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, California, to be broadcast live by NBC.

Yesterday, December 14, 2010 at 9 AM (evening here in Manila), the official nominees in 25 categories were announced by the Hollywood Foreign Press Assocation (HFPA) via a nomination party hosted by Josh Duhamel, Katie Holmes and Blair Underwood.

Leading the pack of nominees for the movie categories is the film "The King's Speech" with 7 nominations, followed by "The Fighter" and "The Social Network" with 6 each while "Black Swan" and "The Kids Are All Right" each has 4 nods.

I'm so happy that "Inception" scored 4 nominations, but all under non-acting categories. (So sad for Leonardo Di Caprio). It's nominated as Best Motion Picture - Drama, Best Original Screenplay, Best Original Score and Best Director for Christopher Nolan.

On Television, the hit comedy-musical TV series "Glee" is the most nomimated program for the Golden Globes 2011 with a total of 5 nominations. It's running under these categories: Best TV Series - Comedy / Musical, Best Performance by an Actress for Lea Michele, Best Performance by an Actor for Matthew Morrison, Best Performance by a Supporting Actress for Jane Lynch and Best Performance by a Supporting Actor for Chris Colfer.

Johnny Depp is the only actor who got a double nominations this year and it's only under one category. He is both nominated for "Alice in Wonderland" and "The Tourist" under the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Comedy / Musical.

“One nomination would of course be a great honor, but two, is simply astonishing. I am floored, truly, by the HFPA’s kindness and generosity. I wish to thank them dearly, as well as all those many wonderful souls who made the films in question possible. My deepest gratitude and respect goes out to you all," Depp told HFPA.

Robert De Niro meanwhile will be this year's recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille Award.
