"Genesis 8:7-12", "Noah's Ark" trend on Twitter as rains, floods hit Manila

Heavy rains continue to hit Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon since Sunday night that the said areas are already experiencing massive flooding today, August 7, 2012.
According to Project NOAH (Nationwide Operational Assessment of Hazards) by PAGASA, the accumulated rainfall in Metro Manila for today, August 7, is already higher than the recorded rainfall during the time Tropical Storm Ondoy struck Metro Manila and nearby areas in September 2009 and killed over 400 people. Alarming!
On Twitter, netizens have posted alarming tweets about what's happening in some floodied areas, such as these ones:
@KristineGee: "Census of patients around 500. The Nursery and ICU are on the 3rd floor. Flood on the 2nd floor continues to rise."
@paoagulto: "PGH hospital staff, residents, nurses, patients need food and water. PGH is isolated by flood. Pls help if you can."
@AtheaIsabelle8: "RT: 74 yrs old lady trapped at 17 kapiligan st araneta subd qc. All grilled windows locked water already at 2nd floor. #rescuePH help! RT"
And while #rescuePH, #ReliefPH, #FloodsPH and "Keep Safe Filipinos" are trending on Twitter, terms such as "Genesis 8:7-12", "Noah's Ark", "Bible" are also trending as some people make reference to a Bible passage about the Noah's Ark.
According to the tweets, Genesis 8:7-12 is about Noah's Ark and the massive flooding in Metro Manila happens today, 8-7-12.
Genesis 8:7-12 says, "And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth. Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground; But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her , and pulled her in unto him into the ark. And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark; And the dove came in to him in the evening ; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf plucked off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth. And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more."
I've read some tweets from users who are alarmed and scared by this, but let's not be. It's just a mere co-incidence and if you interpret that passage, it's a message of hope to everyone. The last line says that the dove, which could be a symbolism of the Holy Spirit, no longer returned to Noah, and that means the flood is over and the Earth has already dried up.
So I hope let's all not be alarmed, and instead, continue to pray for our safety as well as the safety of our fellow Filipinos. - www.mykiru.ph
