The Nonito Donaire Vs Toshiaki Nishioka Fight happened Saturday, October 13, 2012 (Sunday, October 14, MLA time) at
the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.
The fight between 29-year-old Nonito Donaire from the Philippines and 36-year-old Toshiaki Nishioka from Japan ended in only 9 Rounds, with Donaire scoring a TKO win vs Nishioka.
Round 1 for Donaire
Round 2 for Donaire
Round 3 for Donaire
Round 4 for Donaire
Round 5 for Donaire
Round 6 for Donaire plus a knockdown
Round 7 for Donaire
Round 8 for Donaire
Round 9 Donaire knocked down Nishioka again, referee stopped the game
Meanwhile, the undercard fight between Mexican-Americans Mike Alvarado,32, and Brandon Rios, 26, turned out so exciting, much more exciting than Donaire-Nishioka main fight and probably, the best boxing fight we've seen this 2012.
Both started undefeated, but after Round 7, only Rios remained undefeated after he knocked out Alvarado (also a TKO).
Rios' new record now is 31 wins, 0 loss, 1 draw with 23 knockouts, while
Alvarado has 33 wins and 1 loss.
Both fights showed the younger boxer winning over a much older opponent.
It was revealed by Top Rank promoter Bob Arum after the fight that Brandon Rios might fight Manny Pacquiao in 2013 if the lattens wins his 4th fight vs Juan Manuel Marquez this December 8. (And also, if the Manny Pacquiao - Floyd Mayweather Jr won't push through.)
The said Donaire vs Nishioka, Alvarado vs Rios fights were both aired via satellite on ABS-CBN. - www.mykiru.ph
