Nonito Donaire wins fight vs. Toshiaki Nishioka (a 9th Round TKO)

Philippines' Nonito Donaire Jr., 29, won his fight vs Japan's Toshiaki Nishioka, 36, earlier in Carson, California, as aired over ABS-CBN.
As announced, a total of 7,665 fans watched the Donaire-Nishioka fight at the Home Depot Center.
Nonito Donaire, who's dubbed as the Filipino Flash, took control of the fight since the 1st Round, until he knocked down Toshiaki Nishioka first during the 6th Round and then in the 9th Round, forcing a stoppage by the referee with a minute left in that round.
After the fight, Nonito Donaire's boxing record remains impressive with 30 wins (19 knockouts) and with only 1 loss, while Toshiaki Nishioka has 39 wins, 5 losses and 3 draws.
It was Nonito's 29th consecutive wins in 11 years while it was Nishioka's 1st loss after 16 consecutive wins in 8 years.
Browsing at Nishioka's past boxing fights, he defeated already a total of 9 Pinoy boxers, and the match earlier marked his first ever loss to a Filipino (and also his first ever knockout loss).
