Regine Velasquez lost her voice during her 'Silver' Anniversary Concert held last
night, November 16, 2012, at SM MOA Arena.
Regine Velasquez has just experienced every singer's worst nightmare when she lost voice during her 'Silver' Concert, which was supposed to be a grand and special event to mark Regine's 25 years in the music industry.
The 'Silver' concert was cut short as Regine Velasquez already lost her voice in the middle of the concert and can no longer sing her remaining songs that night.
According to those who watched the concert, she was already not the usual Regine Velasquez with a powerful pipes when she opened the show. It turned out that Regine already has viral infections in her throat even before the concert started, but she showed professionalism by pushing through with the show and tried
belting out her songs.
"Sobra kong kinareer ang comeback ko sa stage na ito, para sa concert na ito, para sa inyo. Nagpapayat ako. Naghanda ako. Pero nagka-virus ako kaya wala talaga akong boses. Pero pipilitin
kong kumanta para sa inyo," Regine Velasquez told the crowd, as shared on
Twitter by Garlic Garcia (@bigbadbawang).
An emotional Regine later announced that she will have a "free" repeat of the concert to show her fans how to sing the songs perfectly.
Watch a video of Regine Velasquez singing "God Gave Me You" with Baby Nate on her arm and "Leader of the Band" with father Gerry by her side, which according to the uploader, Qritiko, were the "most touching" parts at the said Silver Concert:
To make up for the discontinued prods, comedian-hosts Vice Ganda and John Lapus did an impromptu skit with Regine to entertain the fans. (The two came there to watch and the skit wasn't originally part of the concert repertoire, says uploader Qritiko.)
I'm sure the fans understood Regine and they came there primarily not to hear her sing, but to celebrate with her on her Silver anniversary.
She has nothing to prove 'coz she has already proven a lot.
It was a celebration, and even if Regine had no voice, the fact still remains that she's the Asia's Songbird and forever she will be. - www.mykiru.ph
