JR Royol is MasterChef Pinoy Edition Grand Winner

JR Royol has been named MasterChef Pinoy Edition Grand Winner, during the live finale held at SM North EDSA Skydome earlier today, February 9, 2013, and was aired on ABS-CBN.
During the live cook off in front of host-judge Judy Ann Santos, the chef judges, and the guest judges Kris Aquino and Richard Gomez, the 29-year-old Bicolano-Igorot band vocalist from Benguet prepared a dish which he called "Bigorot" (coined from Bicol and Igorot).
"Nakaka-inlove ka magluto," said Kris, who gave JR an almost perfect
score (99). Richard on one hand gave him a 97 score. With chef judges' scores included, he got an average score of 96.1.
As the very first MasterChef Pinoy Edition Grand Winner, JR Royol won a culinary scholarship from the Center for Asian Culinary Studies (CACS), a kitchen showcase and a 1 million cash prize.
In 2nd Place was 40-year-old businesswoman Carla Marcaida from Bulacan, winning also a culinary scholarship, kitchen schowcase and P500,000 cash, while in 3rd place was Ivory Yat, a 26-year-old nurse from Quezon City. Ivory took home P300k cash, culinary scholarship and kitchen showcase.
Myra Santos, 31, an accounting associate from Muntinlupa City, was the 4th Placer, who was already eliminated in Round 1 of the finale competition.
