Coco Martin has scored his highest-grossing film with "A Moment In Time"
Released last February 13 as Star Cinema's Valentine 2013 offering, "A Moment In Time" has already earned P57.15-million after 2 weeks, according to the figures tabulated by Box Office Mojo for the period Feb. 20-24.
It becomes lead star Coco Martin's highest-grossing film ever since he started doing mainstream movies.
COCO MARTIN FILMS' GROSSES:
1. "A Moment In Time" (2013) - P57.15M (as of 2nd week)
2. "Born To Love You" (2012) - P52.02M
3. "Sa 'Yo Lamang" (2010) - P50.23M
Meanwhile, by next week, Coco's leading lady Julia Montes will also score her highest grossing film ever when "A Moment In Time" surpasses Julia's 2012 movie "The Reuninon".
JULIA MONTES FILMS' GROSSES:
1. "The Reunion" (2012) - P68.11M
2. "A Moment In Time" (2013) - P57.15M (as of 2nd week)
3. "Way Back Home" (2011) - P25.79M
"A Moment In Time" has already grossed higher than Piolo Pascual's movie last year, "Every Breath U Take", with a final gross of P50.19M, and after 3 weeks, Coco Martin's movie will already surpass Piolo's 2009 movie "Love Me Again" which grossed P66.89M.
Does this prove that Coco Martin is already more bankable than Piolo Pascual?
18 million more, possibly after 2 more weeks in theaters, "A Moment In Time" will already overtake the 2012 ensemble movie "24/7 In Love" which had P75.06M and both starred Piolo and Coco, but with Piolo among the lead stars, while Coco only appeared in a cameo role.
The issue about Coco being pitted against Piolo started when the former replaced the latter in a major endorsement (Max's Fried Chicken).
In terms of endorsement, Coco actually now has more than Piolo.
Coco's endorsements: Belo, Bench, Boardwalk Trion, Cebuana Lhuillier, Globe TM, Max's Fried Chicken, My Dentist, MyPhone, Nescafe, RDL Papaya Soap and Wade shoes
Piolo's endorsements: BDO Remit, Belo, Bench, Canon, Sky Travel, Sunlife and Timex
On television, Coco is now also being regarded as the new Primetime King after the phenomenal success of "Walang Hanggan". - www.mykiru.ph
