'It Takes A Man And A Woman' Gross Revenues Update: The movie continues to rake in millions at the Philippine Box Office and is already nearing P300-million mark.
As of Tuesday, after 11 days in theaters, the movie starring John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo has already grossed P267M according to its co-producer Star Cinema and is expected to hit P300M mark this weekend, probably this Saturday, its 15th day of showing.
That's in line with 'Praybeyt Benjamin' reaching P300M also in 15 days, and went on to become the highest-grossing local film of all time, before 'Sisterakas' took the record early January this year.
New releases such as 'Oblivion' (starring Tom Cruis) and 'Olympus Has Fallen' could slow down the box office performance of 'It Takes A Man
and A Woman' starting yesterday, but not that much and it definitely won't prevent the movie from passing P300-M gross, only the 3rd local film to achieve so if ever.
Meanwhile, Box Office Mojo's tabulation last weekend (April 3-7) made available only this morning shows that 'It Takes A Man and A Woman' has grossed P101.57M from 190 theaters as against 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' which had only P57.18M from 220 theaters.
Both opened last March 30, with 7 is to 10 screen ratio, but the local movie, despite having fewer theaters, has been preventing the foreign movie to rule bigtime in the
Philippine box office.
As of 9th day, still according to Box Office Mojo's report, 'It Takes A Man And A Woman' is already the highest-grossing film for 2013 with P213.20M, followed by 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' with P130.96M.
'Jack the Giant Slayer' is in 3rd spot with P128.88M' and 'Hansel and Gretel: The Witch Hunters', in 4th, with P111.93M.
With 3 more weeks in theaters, I'm positive that 'It Takes A Man and A Woman' will eventually become the all-time highest-grossing Filipino film. Even 'Iron Man 3' which opens April 24, is not gonna prevent it from happening. - Mykiru.ph
