NBA Finals 2013 San Antonio Spurs vs Miami Heat Game 2 Results: HEAT BEAT SPURS, 103-84. SERIES NOW TIED AT 1-1.
I'm live-blogging the scores and updates from the tension-filled Game 2 of the NBA Finals 2013 San Antonio Spurs vs Miami Heat, happening Sunday, June 9, at Miami's homecourt American Airlines Arena. (June 10, Monday, MLA Time)
The Miami Heat attempt to win Game 2 and make the series even at 1-1, after they lost Game 1 at home court to the San Antonio Spurs last June 6. Will they succeed?
Both teams came out strong in the 1st Quarter and each finished it with 22 points. As of halftime, Miami Heat took the lead at 45-50.
During the early part of the 3rd Quarter, it looked like both teams were rattled, struggling to score. With 9:48 left, scores were 46-52.
But halfway through the 3rd Qrtr, the Spurs were hitting the basket more than the Heat, and the scores now tied at 56, with 6 minutes remaining.
Miami Heat bounced back in the last 6 minutes of the 3rd quarter and ended it with a 10-point lead, 65-75, their biggest lead so far.
It's worth noting that the Heat and Spurs alternatively took the lead more than 10 times from the 1st to 3rd quarters.
Heat's lead extended to 17 points, 9:35 remaining in the 4th quarter, while the Spurs were "score-less". 65-82.
Biggest lead came at 7:13 of the 4th Q, 67-94 (27 points).
Game 2 ended with 84-103 for the Miami Heat. Series now tied at 1-1.
Heat's Mario Chalmers was the top scorer with 19 points, but LeBron James was the top performer (though he was not in his typical self once again) with only 17 points - his lowest ever since the NBA 2013 Playoffs - 8 rebounds and 7 assists.
