SAN ANTONIO SPURS BEAT MIAMI HEAT, 92-88, IN GAME 1 OF NBA FINALS 2013
NBA Finals 2013 Miami Heat vs San Antonio Spurs kicked off on Thursday night, June 6, 2013, as Game 1 of 7 took place at Miami's American Airlines Arena (June 7 Friday morning, MLA time).
For the 3rd year in a row, the Miami Heat made it to the NBA Finals and will try to take their 2nd consecutive (3rd non-consecutive) NBA championship title. The San Antonio Spurs, 4-time NBA champions, meanwhile are back in the NBA Finals after 6 years.
Game 1 lived up to expectations as a very exciting game. It was a tight game, with the Miami Heat leading most of the time, but the San Antonio Spurs secured its Game 1 victory in the last 6 minutes of the 4th quarter and finished the game with a 4-point lead (Watch video below for Tony Parker's amazing buzzer-beater in the closing seconds of Game 1). Their biggest lead was 7 points, at 2 minutes, 13 seconds remaining in the 4th quarter.
Heat's Lebron James wasn't that impressive in Game 1, scoring only 18 points, his lowest since the NBA Playoffs 2013. He however achieved a triple-double (18 points, 18 rebounds, 10 assists), but they weren't enough for Miami Heat to win at home.
