'Four Sisters and A Wedding' - a box office hit! 'My Lady Boss' - a flop?

'Four Sisters and A Wedding' Movie grossed P145-million at the Philippine box office in 3 weeks, while 'My Lady
Boss' only earned P19.5-million after 2 weeks.

Star Cinema's "Four Sisters and A Wedding", which opened last June 26, is a certified box office hit, earning P145-million after 3 weeks, according to the report posted at Box Office Mojo website.

The movie which stars Angel Locsin, Bea Alonzo, Toni Gonzaga, Shaina Magdayao and Enchong Dee is still showing in theaters and might post a final tally of P160 to P170 million, which is within expectations due to having 3 big Kapamilya lead stars (Angel, Bea, Toni) with no loveteam or leading man to rely on.

Meanwhile, GMA and Regal Films' much-delayed movie 'My Lady Boss'
which opened last July 3 only earned P19.5M after 12 days.

With two big Kapuso stars leading the cast, Marian Rivera and Richard Gutierrez, that can be considered a
"flop" or a box office disappointment.

It was far from Marian and Richard's 1st team up, 'My Bestfriend's
Girlfriend' in 2008, which had a final gross of P101.3M. But it's at least 3 times or 295% higher than the box office of another Richard Gutierrez movie shown earlier this year, 'Seduction', which also flopped
with only P6.6M after a 2-week run.

What went wrong with 'My Lady Boss'? Too much competition perhaps?
'Despicable Me 2', 'Pacific Rim', 'World War Z', 'White House Down', 'Four
Sisters and a Wedding'.

It's kinda saddening that some fans were more interested in spending time and money to vote for Marian as FHM Sexiest Woman than spending to watch her movie in theaters. I hope that wouldn't be the case the next time.

Marian's next movie is 'Kung Fu Divas' with Comedy Box Office Queen Ai-Ai delas Alas.
