Eat Bulaga hosts are in hot water recently.
First, Eat Bulaga host Wally Bayola at the center of a video scandal controversy, and now, it's the show's main host, Bossing Vic Sotto, for spitting out juice on Ryzza Mae Dizon's face.
The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has set last Tuesday a mandatory conference to be held today, September 5, 2013, for the producers of 'Eat Bulaga!' and 'The Ryzza Mae Show' over two episodes which the MTRCB considers as having insensitive and child-unfriendly scenes. The regulatory board noted that the dignity of Ryzza Mae Dizon as a child was clearly violated in those episodes.
Here's the copy of the announcement that the MTRCB posted via its Twitter page (@mtrcbgov):
It's actually a late reaction from MTRCB, citing the episodes which aired July 29 and August 14.
In the segment "Ang Joke Ko" of Eat Bulaga's July 29, 2013 episode, host Vic Sotto as Marvic spat out juice into "Aling Maliit" Ryzza Mae Dizon's face while acting out a joke entry sent by a viewer from Iloilo City. Also with them in that scene was Jimmy Santos as Jaime. Watch video (credit to GMA Network)
Meanwhile, the other episode (August 14) is for another show also produced by TAPE Inc., "The Ryzza Mae Show" where a 21-year-old female guest called the kiddie host as "malandi". The guest was actually a "Look Up" contest winner of the show and introduced herself as Gelsa Buhok from Cavite.
And the exact thing that she said was "Bakit, aagawin mo (boyfriend ko)? Ang bata-bata mo pa ha. Landing bata 'to" after she was asked by Ryzza if she already has a boyfriend. The child star was visibly annoyed at what the guest said and did not give her the P2,000 prize. (video credit to GMA, uploaded on Youtube by NS R)
On Wednesday morning, MTRCB has also said via Twitter that Vic Sotto and Jimmy Santos, the two hosts involved in the joke segment of "Eat Bulaga", as well as the mother of Ryzza Mae Dizon were also asked to attend the mandatory conference for the two shows' producers scheduled Thursday afternoon, September 5.
