LATEST UPDATE: Miss World 2013 winner is Miss Philippines Megan Young!
PREVIOUS UPDATES: Let's all rejoice as Miss Philippines Megan Young has just been called as one of the Top 10 semi-finalists in the ongoing Miss World 2013 finals in Bali, Indonesia.
After getting the most points from the preliminary challenges, Megan Young ranked on top of Miss World 2013 leaderboard ahead of 126 other candidates. She and the 9 other highest-ranked candidates have been called as the final Top 10 semi-finalists. One of them will be crowned Miss World 2013 later tonight.
The Top 10 semi-finalists of Miss World 2013 are:
10th Ghana, Naa Okailer Shooter - 278 points
9th Jamaica, Gina Hargitay - 280 points
8th Spain, Elena Ibarbia - 281 points
7th Indonesia, Vania Larissa - 282 points
6th England, Kirsty Heslewood - 282 points
5th Nepal, Ishani Shrestha - 290 points
4th France, Marine Lorphelin - 308 points
3rd Australia, Erin Holland - 316 points
2nd Brazil, Sancler Frantz - 323 points
1st Philippines, Megan Young - 328 points
It saddens me that Miss Ukraine failed to make it to the Top 10. She was 4th in the ranking before the final tally above was revealed. Miss Nepal was nowhere in the Top 20 in the previous leaderboard, but she ranks a high 5th in the final leaderboard after tallying the results for the Beauty with a Purpose Award, which she won.
It's now the 3rd consecutive year that Philippines, Spain and Indonesia made it to the semi-finals of Miss World.
The Top 5, then the winner, will be announced later. Keep comin' back for updates.
