Gil Wagas at Mister International 2013: He made history for the Philippines!

Mister Philippines Gil Wagas has just competed at the Mister International 2013 pageant in Jakarta, Indonesia, placing 4th Runner Up!
Prior to being called as one of the runners-up, Gil entered the Top 16 first, after he won the official fan voting which secured him an automatic semi-final slot. (Just like in the recent Miss Universe 2013, Philippines' bet Ariella Arida also entered the Top 16 after she topped the online votes.)
Good job Gil Wagas (or should I say, good job to those who voted for the Philippines)!
Then after competing in beachwear during the Top 16, Mister Philippines was called to join the Top 10 for the evening wear round, and eventually Top 6.

With his 4th Runner-Up finish, Gil Wagas has just made history for the Philippines in Mister International. He's the first ever Mister Philippines to reach Top 5/6 in the pageant and then won 4th Runner Up.
Previously, the country had only 4 semi-finalists and no one made it to the final round (Q&A): Ken Escudero (Top 10 in 2006), Jeff Surio (also in Top 10 during the 2008 pageant), Raphael Carlos (Top 15 in 2010) and Fhrancis Lopez (Top 16 in 2011).
Gil's runner-up placement counts as another big accomplishment for the Philippines in the world of pageants, following Ariella Arida and Ali Forbes who made us so proud just recently after they both finished 3rd Runner Up in the Miss Universe 2013 and Miss Grand International 2013 pageants respectively.
Congrats Gil Wagas!
