Manny Pacquiao is sooooo back!
Congressman Manny Pacquiao has just won his fight vs Brandon Rios by unanimous decision earlier today, Nov 24, 2013, in Macau, China.
That's one big victory by Manny Pacquiao who had two disappointing losses in 2012 (a split decision loss to Timothy Bradly and a knockout loss to Juan Manuel Marquez).
This just means that he's not retiring very soon, and many are still hoping for a Pacquiao vs Mayweather fight. That's still so possible.
It was an easy win by Manny, who dominated all rounds for me.
Based on the official fight results, one judge also looked it that way, scoring it 120-108 in his scorecard. The other two judges scored it as 119-109 and 118-110.
After the fight, Pacquiao now has an improved record of 55 wins, 5 losses, 2 draws with 38 knockouts, while it was Rios' only 2nd loss. He already had 31 wins, 22 of which are knockouts.
In his post-fight interview, Pacquiao said he's not sure yet who's he gonna fight next on the ring. He'll leaving it all up to his promoter Bob Arum.
He also thanked the Filipino fans who never ceased to support him and dedicated his win to the victims of Typhoon Yolanda. "Thank you all the Filipinos who supported me. This fight is important especially to the victims of the typhoon," he said.
Congrats Manny Pacquiao!
And the question is: how much is he willing to donate to those affected by the typhoon? In the said fight, his guaranteed purse was $18 million, and he could be earning as much as $30 million depending on PPV sales.
Forbes estimates that Manny Pacquiao’s career earnings will reach $300 million, including endorsements after his fight with Brandon Rios.
