MMFF 2013 MMFF 2013 total gross as of 6th Day now over P500 million
Star Cinema is ending the year with a bang as 2 of its MMFF 2013 entries reached box office milestones yesterday, December 30.
After reaching P100M in 3 days, the Star Cinema-Viva entry 'Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy' this time hit the P200 million mark early afternoon of December 30, on its 6th Day in the festival. Total earnings now P228.8M.
It's the 2nd Star Cinema film this 2013 to cross that mark, after 'It Takes a Man and a Woman', last Summer and now one of only 10 Pinoy films in history having more than P200M gross income.
Meanwhile, the other Star Cinema film 'Pagpag', which is co-produced with Regal Films and stars Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, is proving to be a big hit as well, as it tallied over P100 million as of last night (Day 6).
It's the 6th film under Star Cinema to gross above P100M this year. The other 4 are, 'It Takes a Man and a Woman', 'Four Sisters and a Wedding', 'Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo?', 'She's the One' and 'Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy'.
'Pagpag' is also now the fastest horror film in MMFF history to reach P100M. 'Segunda Mano' hit it in 9 days, while 'Dalaw' broke that mark in more than 2 weeks in theaters.
Another MMFF 2013 entry has also reached P200M. 'My Little Bossings' did it on its 5th Day (Dec. 29), becoming the fastest Pinoy film to ever hit that mark. As of 6th day, it has grossed P230.4M, now just P1.6M ahead of 'Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy', which has P228.8M.
That just means, the combined grosses of the Top 3 films of MMFF 2013 is already more than P500M or half a billion pesos, with still 8 days left in the festival.
As for the other entries, 'Kimmy Dora: ang Kiyemeng Prequel' has earned so far above P50M but not more than P100M, and the rest have earned below P50M.
