The NBA All Star Game 2014 has just concluded. Final Results: East wins vs West, 163-155.
The all-star exhibition game was held at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana Sunday, February 16, 2014 (Monday MLA Time).
It started with the Western Conference team aiming for its 4th consecutive win. But in the end, it's the Eastern Conference team who won with a big 163 points scored, as against West's 155.
The West was the one leading by 13 as of halftime, 76-89, but the East recovered in the 2nd half and owned it bigtime, winning by 8 points,
163-155.
According to ESPN, East now owns record for the most points scored ever in NBA All-Star history, beating 2003's record of 155 by the West. Even the combined points by the 2 teams, 318, is also the highest ever, beating 1987's 303 points.
East's Kyrie Irving was named KIA Most Valuable Player (MVP) after a double-double, 31 points and 14 assists, beating Carmelo Anthony, who
was also deserving to win the MVP award, with his 30 points, and new NBA All-Star record of eight 3-point shots.
Their teammates included LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Paul George, Roy Hibbert and Joakim Noah.
The West on one hand also broke records. Kevin Durant and Blake Griffins both scored 38 points, the 3rd highest ever in NBA All-Star game history.
The other players from West were Dwight Howard, Tony Parker, Dirk Nowitzki, Chris Paul and James Harden. Kobe Bryant was unable to play due to an injury.
