Starting Over Again Movie is the #1 date movie in the Valentine's Day box office and definitely will continue to be the ultimate choice all throughout this love season.
The first Star Cinema movie team up of Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga is showing in more than 200 theaters nationwide, and is being flocked by a massive number of moviegoers so far ahead of other new releases such as the other Pinoy film 'Basement' (starring Aljur Abrenica, Kristoffer Martin and Louise delos Reyes) as well as Hollywood's 'The Monuments Men', 'Endless Love', 'Vampire Academy' and 'Winter's Tale', and the South African 3D animated movie 'Khumba'.
Except for 'Winter's Tale', which opened yesterday Feb. 13, all films mentioned above debuted in theaters last Wednesday, Feb. 12. The viewers indeed have so many choices this Valentine's Day, in addition to last week's 'Robocop 2014 and 'The LEGO Movie', as well as a number of films still showing selected cinemas.
With its appealing cast and relatable story, Olivia Lamasan-directed 'Starting Over Again' stands out as the perfect date movie despite many competitions. It's getting good reviews and everyone's talking about the movie's ending.
On opening day, Star Cinema has confirmed that 'Starting Over Again' earned a huge P25-million gross income, a new record for stars Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga.
Toni is no new to this for she had hits after hits before (except for the flop 'Wedding Tayo, Wedding Hindi'), but for Piolo, he's so back as a box-office star after his huge flop 'On The Job' last year. That movie only had less than P20-million in its entire run.
Piolo's last certified hit was the 2006 film 'Don't Give Up On Us', his last movie with Judy Ann Santos.
I super admire him for admitting last night on 'Abunda & Aquino Tonight' that he came to a point when all of his movies were not doing good.
Not anymore Piolo. Your latest movie is doing so well and here's me hoping you'll have more movie hits. Congrats Toni, Piolo, Direk Olive and Star Cinema!
