Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Philippines 2014 winners are Kurt Ong (Vice Ganda's alleged new boyfriend) and Nicole Cordoves, succeeding 2013 winners Randy See and Rolini Lim Pineda.
Hosted by 4 of the hottest chinitos and chinitas in the country, Kim Chiu, Xian Lim, Enchong Dee and Gretchen Ho, the coronation night held Sunday, July 27, 2014, at the Aliw Theater had 24 candidates (12 males, 12 females) vying to become the next Mr. and Miss Chinatown Philippines and be Ambassadors of Goodwill for the Chinese-Filipino community.
The men competed in their Active Wear and Formal Wear, while the women sizzled during the Swimsuit and Evening Gown rounds. And then they were later trimmed down to just 10 (5 each) for the Question and Answer portion.
My personal favorite among the boys, contestant #11 Raven Go, who even landed on top of Twitter's trending list in the entire duration of the pageant, sadly didn't make the Top 10 cut.
It's worth noting that contestant #1 Kurt Joshua Ong, 19, a student from Grace Christian College, answered Justin Bieber during the Q&A, when he was asked by judge Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago about an international figure who he wants to talk with and what he would tell him or her. He said that he would tell Bieber to be a good inspiration to others.
I think Kurt charmed everyone and was winning big points already even before he answered Bieber, when he was asked by Bea Rose (as a "warm-up" question) to translate the famous Janina San Miguel line "I don't feel any pressure right now".

I agree with you MRT.
ReplyDeleteShowbiz is showbiz. Think abt it.
