San Mig Super Coffee Mixers are the first PBA Grand Slam champions since Alaska in 1996. Other PBA grandslam teams are Crispa (1976, 1983) and San Miguel (1989).
The 2014 Governors' Cup was also the 4th straight PBA title for the Mixers in just a span of 9 months, since they also won the 2013 Governors' Cup only last October.
Now with 13 championship titles, the San Mig Coffee/Purefoods franchise is now the 3rd winningest team in PBA tied with Crispa.
For their coach Tim Cone, he just had his 18th championship (the most by any coach) and becomes the only coach to score 2 grand slam wins. He was also responsible for Alaska's grand slam nearly 2 decades ago.
