Anria Galang Espiritu's death deeply saddens many Pinoys, especially during these days that we've been hearing day-after-day so many bad news about people, particulary children and women, being brutally killed.
Earlier this month, an 11-month-old baby girl, believed to have been raped, was found lifeless under a jeepney vehicle. And now, there's another rape victim, this time 26-year-old woman from Calumpit, Bulacan.
As reported in news programs from TV networks these past few days, Anria Galang Espiritu, nicknamed Anne, was found dead on a rice field, and police investigation showed she was raped.
I watched "Umagang Kay Ganda" this morning and there I heard the police officer from Bulacan saying that 3 of the 4 possible suspects are now under their custody for questioning. Witnesses reportedly positively identified those 3 as the last people seen with Anria on the night she died.
As shared by the police, Anria met with a male friend Jay-Jay around 7PM Wednesday, August 13, and then past 1AM the next day, she rode a jeepney back home.
One of the 4 suspects nabbed was the jeepney driver, while the rest were also in the same jeepney with Anria.
It's a good thing though that justice is slowly being served now for Anria and the case is now close to being resolved.
But this crime shouldn't have happened in the first place. There's no more safe place now, and something must be done by the government and the police authority to prevent incidents like this. It becomes so easy for evil men now to kill people.
Out of curiosity, I searched Anria's profile on Facebook and it gave me goosebumps browsing her photos there.
She's pretty, and seemed like a very cheerful woman who loved to take selfies or pictures of her. She has over 200 photo albums there, some of which showed she already toured Singapore and Australia.
Anria posted kinda "cryptic" Facebook updates before her death, when she kept on saying she's not gonna post her "sexy" picture again.
And hours before her death, she even took selfies before meeting her friend for a nightout, put it in a collage and made it as her new profile picture. She's reportedly wearing there the same dress as the one she was wearing when she was found dead.
As it turned out, it's already her very last Facebook photo before she died.
It's getting tons of likes and shares since news broke out about her tragic death. As of this writing, it has 8,620 likes, 266 shares and 896 comments.
The Facebook Page "Justice For Anria Galang Espiritu" meanwhile already has over 65,000 likes since it was created to bring out awareness and help the family seek justice for Anria.
Let's continue to pray that justice be fully served for Anria, as well as for other helpless victims whose lives were ended in an instant by merciless men. - Mykiru.ph
