AFF Suzuki Cup 2014 Finals, the Leg 2 of Thailand vs Malaysia final match, has just concluded at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Malaysia.
It was certainly one thrilling championship. Malaysia was the leading team in the 1st half with 2 goals (by Safiq Rahim at 7' and Indra Putra at the 2 minute extended time, 45+2'), while Thailand was yet to score.
During the 2nd half, Safiq made a goal again at the 58th minute, but the Thailand War Elephants pulled off 2 amazing late goals (by Charyl Chappuis at 82' and Chanathip at 87'), to make the final scores to 2-3 in favor of Malaysia.
But combining the results of Leg 2 to the 1st leg held in Thailand last December 17, it's 4-3 on aggregrate, so it's Thailand's War Elephants as the 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup champions. Congratulations!
It's now the 4th time for Thailand to win the AFF Suzuki Cup championship, the first time was during the 1st edition in 1996 when they also defeated the same team, Malaysia.
Our dearest Philippine Azkals finished in the semi-finals, their 3rd straight time now to make it to AFF Suzuki Cup semis, and let's hope that in the 2016 edition, they'll finally make it to the final round. - Mykiru.ph
