Kris Tiffany Janson - Miss Intercontinental 2014 rightful winner, and not Miss Thailand?

Kris Tiffany Janson has won Miss Intercontinental 2014 2nd Runner Up in Magdeburg, Germany Thursday night, Dec. 4.
It was a great finish for the Philippines in Miss Intercontinental (the country's highest placement, matching Maria Bacud's 2nd Runner Up finish as well in 1993), but many believe Kris Tiffany Janson should have been the rightful winner of the Miss International 2014 title, and not Miss Thailand Phataraporn Wang.
While most people in the Philippines were sleeping early Friday morning, Kris Tiffany Janson was competing in Germany against 67 other candidates in the 43rd edition of Miss Intercontinental.
She and the candidates from, South Africa, Portugal and Puerto Rico were considered as huge favorites to win the crown. But sadly, they
all lost to Miss Thailand, who came out of nowhere and eventually won the crown, said to be the most expensive pageant crown ever.

I'm still trying to convince myself why Miss Thailand won. Judging her performances during the finals, it's surprising that she made 'til the Top 5 and won! Her answer during the Question &Answer portion also didn't impress me. Maybe it's because she's tall and a nice person, that's why she won?
There was actually a Top 6, instead of the supposed Top 5. According to an update from the pageant's Facebook page, there was a tie in the scores of Miss Philippines and Miss Thailand in their continental region, so they both made it to the Top 5 (turned Top 6).
And after all 6 finalists went through the Q&A, luck was indeed on Thailand's side when she won over other 5 finalists, despite not being the best, both physically and mentally, according to most pageant observers, taking notice of her "far from impressive" answer during the Q&A.
It would have been acceptable for many if any of the runners-up won the crown. (Not being biased here, but it should be Miss Philippines.) - Mykiru.ph
