Typhoon Hagupit latest weather forecast, including class suspensions

Typhoon Hagupit now locally known as 'Ruby' is now located at 370 km east of Borongan, Eastern Samar, according to PAGASA's weather advisory, 4PM Friday, Dec. 5. It has slightly weakened. From 215 kph this morning, 'RUBY' now has a maximum sustained winds of 195 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 230kph.
By Saturday afternoon, Typhoon Ruby is being expected to be at 80 km North Northeast of Borongan, Eastern Samar or at 130 km East Southeast of Catarman, Northern Samar. And since it's still moving slow (at 13 kph), 'Ruby' is now being expected to make landfall in Eastern Samar-Northern Samar area Saturday night (previous updates had it Saturday morning, then afternoon). PAGASA also warns of strong winds, storm surge and heavy-intense rainfull when it makes landfall.
It's still Signal #2 for Sorsogon, Ticao Island, Masbate, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Northern Cebu including Cebu City, Bantayan Island & Camotes Island. Now in the same signal level is Albay, from a previous #1.
Meanwhile, places like Catanduanes, Camarines Provinces, Burias, Island, Romblon, Capiz, Iloilo, Antique, Aklan, Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental, Rest of Cebu, Siquijor, Bohol, Surigao del Sur, Surigao Del Norte, Camiguin Island, Agusan del Sur and Agusan del Norte are still under Signal #1, as well as Siargao Island and Dinagat Island.
Signal #1 is now raised as well in the province of Guimaras. No more storm warning signal for Misamis Oriental.
As 'Ruby' continues to come closer and closer, local government units have declared suspension of classes for today, Dec. 5, in anticipation of heavy rains and flooding. DepEd has provided a list of areas where class suspensions have been announced.
