A typhoon is coming to the Philippines this Holy Week.
PAGASA warns that a rainy Holy Week is expected in the country once Typhoon Maysak enters the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday. The Lenten typhoon will be locally named as Bagyong "CHEDENG"
In its weather bulletin issued at 11 this Holy Monday, March 30, 2015, (and also as shown in the satellite image above), "MAYSAK" was estimated 2,240 km east of Mindanao (8.6˚N, 146.7˚E), with maximum sustained winds of 140 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 170 kph.
By Holy Wednesday, April 1, which is also April Fools' Day and definitely PAGASA is not gonna fool us as they expect the Typhoon Maysak to enter PAR on this day and will be named Chedeng.
It's gonna be a rainy wet Holy Week, and the Bicol Region once again may be affected the most, just like in May 2011 when a typhoon also named 'Chedeng' affected the southernmost provinces of Luzon.
Oh no, hope it won't be rainy during the Bicolandia's "Alay Lakad" to the Amang Hinulid on Maundy Thursday, April 2. It's going to be my 3rd consecutive year to join the annual penitent walk, which starts from Naga City to Calabanga, Camarines Sur, with estimated distance of 11 to 16 kilometers. - Mykiru.ph
