The University of the Philippines Los Baños - University Student. Council (UPLB USC) wants giant media network ABS-CBN to apologize over irresponsible journalism. It is in connection with ABS-CBN News' misleading headline and wrong reporting about Vice President Jejomar "Jojo" Binay's visit to UPLB for an open forum last Tuesday, September 15, 2015.
An open letter to ABS-CBN has been posted in the official Twitter of UPLB USC (@UPLBUSC), demanding an apology from the network over wrong reporting, citing in particular ABS-CBN News' wrongfully accusing UPLB students of chanting "Trapo! Trapo! Trapo!" during the forum with VP Binay, when it was actually "Sample! Sample! Sample!"
As of this posting, the hashtag #ABSCBNSaySorryToUPLB is trending on Twitter nationwide, as some users are also taking advantage of the opportunity to make it an issue of network war, GMA vs ABS-CBN, and even war between AlDub and Pastillas, when it should only be an issue
about responsible journalism and nothing else.
