MMFF 2015 Top Grosser and Box Office Results on Day 1 or Opening Day: The 41st Metro Manila Film Festival or MMFF 2015 has 8 official entries, and is quite very exciting to know which movie will emerge as the MMFF 2015 top grosser: will it be a Vice-Coco-JaDine-Wenn Deramas movie ('Beauty and the Bestie') or the ALDUB-AiAi-Vic movie ('My Bebe Love: #KiligPaMore') or the star-studded Kris-Derek, KimXi, Jodian and Jadaone film ('All You Need is Pag-ibig)?
MMFF 2015 Box Office Results on Opening Day, December 25, 2015, might be available by tomorrow, but I'm already seeing "unofficial" Box Office Opening Day figures, as of 6PM, showing the films 'Beauty and the Bestie', 'All You Need Is Pag-ibig' and 'My Bebe Love' in the Top 3. (Update: Official Top 4 films on Day 1 are, in no particular order, 'All You Need is Pag-ibig', 'Haunted Mansion, 'Beauty and the Bestie' and 'My Bebe Love')
It's actually just another network war in the movies between ABS-CBN and GMA, and it's just the first day, there's already a controversy that is about to explode.
'My Bebe Love' director Jose Javier Reyes has just exposed it on Twitter. According to Direk Joey, the film producer has confirmed to him that there's indeed a ticket swapping going on in some cinemas and so he advised the moviegoers to be cautious and double-check the tickets they're buying. Read his tweets.
It means, someone who bought a "My Bebe Love" movie ticket was given a ticket with a different title. Thus, it will be counted as ticket sales for the other movie and not for 'My Bebe Love'. I think that's what happened, basing on Direk Joey Reyes.
I never heard of nor experienced this "ticket swapping" in our cinemas before. Is it really possible? Or was it just a matter of an honest mistake on the part of the cinema personnel?
So how did this controversy start? I assume it all started when someone posted a photo of her movie ticket on Instagram claiming that she watched 'My Bebe Love' but the movie ticket that was given to her had "Beauty and the Bestie" written on it. Those on "My Bebe Love" side quickly believed her claim was true, but it later turned out that the photo she posted was not hers or not originally posted by her.
The re-posted photo was soon deleted, and its uploader claimed that her account was hacked, appealing to everyone to stop bashing her.
There was also this tweet, also claiming that she wanted to watch MBL at SM Rosario in Cavite but was given a wrong ticket.
We shall see how this controversy will affect this year's MMFF. (READ also: MMFF 2015 Awards Night: 'Honor Thy Father' not eligible for Best Picture)
December 26 Update: The MMFF committee has already reacted on the issue, denying any incidence of ticket swapping. The official statement says:

December 26 Update: The MMFF committee has already reacted on the issue, denying any incidence of ticket swapping. The official statement says:
"The Metro Manila Film Festival, after looking into the ticket swapping issue, strongly denies the existence of such and is enjoining all the stakeholders of the Festival to be responsible in expressing their sentiments especially on Social Media. The objective of the MMFF is to promote the local film industry and this baseless issue will only sideline the true intent and purpose of the Festival. Let’s continue supporting all the entries of the MMFF 2015."
