Miss Earth 2016 winner is from Ecuador, Katherine Espin, the 2nd time that an Ecuadorian beauty won the crown. The first one was Olga Alava in 2011.

23-year-old Miss Ecuador Katherine Espin, who describes herself as a future lawyer, was a heavy favorite for the Miss Earth 2016 title since the very beginning. She was the 1st Runner Up at Miss Bikini Universe 2015.
For the first time in Miss Earth history, all 4 elemental winners came from just one continent - South America.
And only for the 3rd time, Miss Philippines didn't make the semi-final cut.
