The movie 'Gandarrapiddo: The Revenger Squad' is officially the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival top grosser with over P570-million gross earnings, and now becomes the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time.
So, expect Vice Ganda to be crowned once again (for the 7th consecutive time) as the Philippines' Phenomenal Box Office Star shared this time with co-star Daniel Padilla during the Box Office Entertainment Awards 2018 by Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation.
No figures available for the other MMFF 2017 entries, but the festival spokesperson, Noel Ferrer, revealed on IG last night the ranking of the Top 4 films.
Ranking next to 'The Revenger Squad' is 'Ang Panday' (starring Coco Martin), followed by the festival's second Best Picture 'Siargao' (starring Jericho Rosales and Erich Gonzales) and the lone horror entry 'Haunted Forest' in rank 4 (starring Jane Oineza, Jameson Blake, Maris Racal and Jon Lucas).
Outside the Top 4, in no particular order, are the films 'Meant To Beh' (starring Vic Sotto and Dawn Zulueta), 'All Of You' (starring Jennylyn Mercado and Derek Ramsay), 'Deadma Walking' (starring Joross Gamboa and Edgar Allan Guzman) and 'Ang Larawan' (starring Paulo Avelino, Rachel Alejandro and Joanna Ampil).
I think it marks the first time that a Vic Sotto movie ranked outside the Top 3 at the MMFF box-office. - Mykiru.ph
